Project Highlights:
- Design-build 50,000 GPD sanitary sewer collection and transmission system and a best available technology wastewater treatment plant
- Sanitary service provided for approximately 200 residents, 3 commercial businesses and a state park located along US 1
- Project designed and constructed to meet state requirements for 10/10/10/1 effluent discharge
- Fossilized coquina and a high water table, common construction challenges in The Keys, were issues that had to be addressed
- Provided design management, estimating, scheduling, value engineering, and constructability reviews
- Project components included site development, gravity collection system, sanitary lift station and forcemain, static bar screen, secondary treatment process, chemical feed systems, effluent filtration, effluent disinfection, effluent disposal, aerobic digestion, standby generator, electrical and instrumentation
- High level of community involvement
- Delivered on fast track schedule
