Project Highlights:

• Design-build 122,000 GPD sanitary sewer vacuum collection system and an advanced wastewater treatment plant
• Sanitary service provided for approximately 400 residents and 60 commercial businesses located along US 1
• Project designed and constructed to meet 2010 state requirements for 5/5/3/1 effluent discharge
• Fossilized coquina and a high water table, common construction challenges in The Keys, were issues that had to be addressed.
• Provided design management, estimating, scheduling, value engineering, and constructability reviews
• Project components included site development, vacuum collections system, vacuum pump station, mechanical bar screen, secondary treatment process, chemical feed systems, effluent filtration, effluent disinfection, effluent disposal via injection wells, aerobic digestion, odor control, standby generator, electrical and instrumentation.
• Relocated native hammock due to environmental requirements
• High level of community involvement
