Project Highlights:
- Design-build improvements increased water treatment plant capacity from 19.6 MGD to 25.4 MGD and provide for the implementation of more advanced treatment processes in the future
- First design-build effort for JEA, the nation’s eighth largest community-owned utility
- Value engineering provided the client with savings in excess of $2 million
- A “future-proof” design provides additional cost savings to the owner
- Plant was entirely reconstructed while maintaining water production
- Minimal impact to the surrounding medium-density residential area
- Provided design management, estimating, scheduling, value engineering, and constructability reviews
- Project components included site development, supply wells, 1 million gallon raw water storage tank, disinfection system, high service pumps, finished water flow metering station, emergency generation, electrical, instrumentation and modifications to existing 1.5 MG, 1.0 MG and .6 MG ground storage tanks
- Delivered on fast track schedule
