Manufacturing Plant

A joint venture of Grupo Vitro, S.A. de C.V., and AFG Industries, Inc. - two of the world’s leading glass manufacturers, contracted The Haskell Company to build their new float glass manufacturing plant in Mexicali.

The projected consisted of converting an existing 300,000 s.f. bottling plant into a float glass manufacturing plant and expanding the warehouse 200,000 s.f.

The work included heavy concrete demolition, deep excavation (using sheetpiling), 138 new deep pile foundations under an existing roof for the new furnace, concrete mezzanines, a new control room and offices, equipment foundations, bridge crane supports, and cullet return and ventilation tunnels throughout the length of the process and warehouse buildings.

Haskell executed this project with its subsidiary, The Haskell Company de Mexico, S.A. de C.V.

The project was completed on schedule in seven (7) months.
