Haskell was selected by Merillat Industries to provide design-build services for a 240,000 s.f., vertically integrated assembly (VIA), cabinet manufacturing plant. The new facility includes 19,000 s.f. of office space and is located on a 30-acre site in Ocala, Florida.

The manufacturing plant also includes finishing, milling and assembly operations for residential cabinetry and features 240,000 s.f. of a super flat concrete slab area. Haskell performed tilt-wall construction for the exterior of the facility, due to its cost and time-effectiveness.

In addition, extensive glass was utilized between the office and cafeteria spaces, in order to create an approachable presence of management personnel and help develop a closer relationship between office personnel and craftsmen.

The new manufacturing facility features single-ply roofing, was fully airconditioned and designed to accommodate future expansion of the manufacturing floor, office space and parking area. Haskell also performed installation services for the owner's manufacturing equipment.

This plant is the prototype for the remaining Merillat manufacturing plants.
