New Hangar And Shop Facility

The Haskell Company was selected by Glynn County Airport Authority to provide architecture, engineering and construction services for a 25,000 s.f. hangar expansion and conversion of an existing 20,000 s.f. warehouse to a wood/ fabric shop facility for a G-5, Gulfstream Aerospace's newest and largest aircraft.

The new hangar was built against an existing hangar facility, which housed up to five Gulfstream jets daily. Special features of the new hangar include a 200-foot clear span, pre-engineered metal building with epoxy floor coating and hangar doors capable of stacking at either end, which allows flexibility for maneuvering various types of aircraft.

The state-of-the-art shop facility is equipped with dust collection systems vacuum systems and paint booths for painting and gluing processes. The new facility also accommodates more than 300 employees.

Haskell completed the project in five months on a fast-track schedule.
