Haskell was selected to design-build a 1,000-bed student residential facility on 27 acres, inclusive of all necessary site infrastructures. The facility consists of four, five-story connected residence towers totaling 370,000 square feet, arranged in 120 four bedroom and 80 six bedroom, two bath suites, laundry facilities, common lounges and kitchens, study areas, convenience store, exercise and aerobics room, game room, swimming pool and lazy river pool, running track, putting green, basketball courts, sand volleyball court, bicycle racks, trash chutes and an 800 foot boardwalk through a natural wetlands.
Although the project requirements called for a basic US Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED® certification, the Haskell team worked with the owner to implement more aggressive sustainable practices and increased the certification level. With the Utilization of sustainable design and construction practices, LEED® Silver Certification has been achieved with 35 points.
